Plague Bringer
#1
Information
Well, I'm in love with the idea, execution, and its overall design, but there is one thing I must address, the lack of creative freedom that is our creation of brewing our own disease, becoming more and more complicated.

Now before we go "This can be absolutely devastatingly over powered.." Let's look at what I mean. First, Alchemical Mutations. My idea is that the Plague Bringer is allowed to add symptoms and effects to his plague carrier (Aka the target affected) The first I'd like to bring up is Daichi's discovery corrosive blood. I believe this should be an innate ability within plague bringer to begin with, at about level six. The plague bringer has very little distinguishing it currently from any other chemist..so much so in fact that they play the same if done traditionally (Aka, not my route of being a natural weapon melee specialist). So lets look at what we could do..we could..

A) We can use the pathfinder disease table listed here (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/af...s/diseases) Which could resort into some extremely overpowered shenanigans.. or we could..

B) Sort of mix the chemist and the magitek together to create a completely customizable disease based on level.

With the latter option taking levels of plague bringer would be more exciting, and make them feel more like a brand of their own. Some examples I've thought of could be common symptoms (Headache, sore throat, fever, nausea) (These could be offered at the beginning such as like level 5) to more uncommon, (Diahrea, inflamation, swelling tongue, swelling eyes, eye matting, and extreme fatigue) (These could be offered at about level 10) to fantasy ones, which should be saved for the later levels. Such as level 15.

This is just a suggestion, and an idea. Nothing more. I really don't have more than this, but I'll be working on it. I'm asking for a bit of help on the idea though, which is why its here. What should all these symptoms do?

I'll take a look into this. Although, atm, taking a little break from updating. I have an update planned, just waiting for me to finish it and post it, but I wanted to postpone for little bit.

Well the main issue is that while it's called a 'disease' the effects really only last so long, 1 round/chemist level iirc, it's more accurately a fast-acting contact poison being carried through your blood.

But the Chemist already has enough poison stuff :p

Keeping that in mind I think an easier way to go about this is letting you take certain debuffs from the Dark Knight's Harm Touch ability in place of discoveries and have them be contracted through your 'diseased' blood.

I also think a discovery that allows you to deliver the effects through a ranged touch attack (spitting in their eye or something) could be fun.

EDIT: Also, just a small thing since you know... not my real name just an internet handle, but I prefer being called 'Dairius' if you're trying to short hand it, or 'Dai', just a personal preference :p

Sorry...I kinda only remembered Dai...And Chi..So I said Daichi. Sorry Dairius..And honestly, I just thought that it would be interesting to brew ones own concoctions. It'd be an interesting take, and would be fun for role playing purposes as well. And sure its fast acting..but that doesn't mean the symptoms cant be immedeatly affecting the person..creature..thing..you know what I mean.

Well to be fair the they do lose access to "craft tier 1-3 alchemy" that a chemest has. So they should be able to reasonably create "some sort of disease/poison" of their own mehness..

I would have to say it would need to be restrictive, and I do find the system semi-doable , (pandemic anyone), just, dealing with it is another sort of problem all together.

The pathfinder's kind are pretty nasty and brutal, but with fair enough dc's so humm.

Of course :p according to eno i'm an "antagonistic" dm O_o sooo, not sure.

I mean we have beastmaster , mechanic, and a bit of chocobo knight, and summoner, that all have ways of making a semi-custom object or thing. Alchmests also can to some extent, and of course thiefs have trap making, gunners have gunsmithing, so it's not too far-fetched that a plague bringer should be able to custom brew his own plague.

Only thing is, it has to be able to be esuna'd , vaccined, and so on, other thing is this sounds more like a new base class instead of a archtype (again no real complaints though).

However, >.> I'm sure he'll try to get my goat somehow with it lol.
