Devastating blow reads: as a standard action, a fighter may make a single melee attack with his chosen weapon at a –5 penalty. If the attack hits, it is treated as a critical threat and deals double damage.
The heading mentions if the attack hits it BOTH is treated as a critical threat and deals double damage. My question is about how these things interact. From the way it's written:
If the Threat isn't confirmed, I suppose the attack deals double damage even so, right?
But what happens if it IS confirmed? Per the usual doubling rules, I suppose a confirmed critical would have its multiplier increased by 1 (x2 becomes x3 and so on). Is that the correct reading?
