How many Materia on Equipment?

I'm sure this is mentioned somewhere, and I remember reading it, but how many slots for Materia does each weapon / armor contain?

In materia part one, it says that each item can hold one materia, but they can be swapped at any time. Personally seems a little underwhelming, especially considering the vast choices to have. Then again I am currently in a FFVII campaign and that is materia-centric. Hope that helps.

I missed it the first couple of times too, but I remember that is where the table used to be, listing what could have what slots, so you just need to read carefully.
