Pictomancer (Illusionist Archetype)
#1
I wanted to make something inspired by Relm, the most ADORABLE FFVI girl. Let me know what you think I was attempting something that would reflect her "Sketch" ability.

Pictomancer

Limit Break:
Perfect Likeness- the painter creates a perfect likeness of someone currently on the battlefield (essentially making a paint construct version of that creature) possessing all abilities/items/etc. as the original. This ability can only affect a creature with HD no greater than two times the Pictomancer'slevel. This construct acts on the Pictomancer turn and obeys her commands. Duration of 1 round + 1 round per four illusionist levels.
(Replaces Perfect Illusion)

Brilliance (Su): the phenomenal skill of the Pictomancer is beyond what any artist could hope to achieve, but is also taxing and subject to the whims of the muses for inspiration. Using this resource can empower the Pictomancer’s abilities, but is difficult to replenish. The Pictomancer starts the day with a number of Brilliance points equal to their CHA modifier (minimum 1) and can fluctuate during the day but cannot rise above their CHA modifier. And can regain in the following ways:
• Anytime a target critically fails their Will save vs an Illusionist Spell or Supernatural ability.
• Anytime the Pictomancer witnesses an ally score a critical hit against an enemy affected by a status effect.
At first level a Pictomancer can spend 1 point of brilliance as a standard action to duplicate the effects of disguise self, lasting a number of hours equal to their level. The DC to disbelieve is equal to 10+1/2 lvl+CHA modifier. At 5th level he can duplicate disguise other, at 9th level he can duplicate hallucinatory terrain.
(Replaces Veil Pool)

Rough Sketch: @ 1st level, as a standard action the Pictomancer can draw a rough sketch against a foe. The harsh nature of the brush strokes and the haphazard perspective manifest in unpredictable ways on the target: Roll a d6, a successful Will save negates any result other than a 1. A Pictomancer can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3+CHA modifier.
1. The likeness is so extraordinary the painter recovers a point of brilliance.
2. Target is dazzled
3. Target is deafened
4. Target is entangled
5. Target is shaken
6. Target is sickened

Masterpiece in Progress: gains a bonus to their Craft Painting equal to ½ their level. In addition they are so skilled at modifying shoddy work that they do not risk wasting supplies when they fail a crafting check. Since art has no set value a Pictomancer can continue working on a piece until he wishes to sell it.
(Replaces Haze)

Artistic Genius: at level 3 the Pictomancer develops new ways to utilize his artistic brilliance. He gains additional artistic genius for every three levels of Pictomancer attained after 3rd level . Many of these options are the same as the Veil Powers available to any Illusionist. Additional options are listed below as well as certain options that are not available to the MP.
Removed Veil Powers: Disappearing Trick, Pierce the Veil, Unfettered Concentration
New Powers:
Color of Self- a Pictomancer can spend a single Brilliance point as a standard action to pull the chromatic value from his self and use it as a projectile against a foe. Make a ranged touch attack vs a single opponent, on a successful hit a swirling mist of color surrounds the targets head acting as a single target fog cloud for a single round. As a secondary benefit the Pictomancer is now mostly transparent and is able to make a Stealth check to Hide, even while being observed, the Pictomancer receives a circumstance bonus to this Stealth check equal to their level.
Fabulous Color Display- a Pictomancer can spend two brilliance points as a full round action to create a beautiful visual display of colors that can fascinate as the bard ability. This ability relies only on visual components.
(Substitute for Veil Powers)

Inspired Painter’s Trick: At 10th level when a Pictomancer paints together an illusion spell they gain cover from the additional paint splatter for a number of rounds equal to the spell’s level.
(Modifies Moderate Illusion Esoterica)

Art Imitates Life: @ 12th level a Pictomancer can paint into reality a false image of a creature as per the shadow conjuration that can only utilize the ‘summoning’ type and lasting for only a single attack before fading away, this ability can be used a number of times per day equal to ½ the MP’s level + their CHA modifier.
(Replaces Illusionary Puppet)

Painted Copies: @13th level the Pictomancer has so perfectly practice painting themselves that they can call forth these practice art pieces to aid in protecting them during battle. This functions like the mirror image with a limit of being able to manifest no more than the Pictomancer’s CHA modifier in duplicates at a time and no more than their Pictomancer level in duplicates per day.
(Replaces Invisibility Field)

Masterful Painter’s Trick: at level 15 the Pictomancer can cast any double the duration of any illusion spell (as per the Extend Spell feat) without an increase in caster level or MP cost. He can use this ability a number of times per day equal to his CHA modifier.
(Replaces Major Illusion Esoterica)

Life Imitates Art: at 19th the Art Imitates life ability of the Pictomancer functions as greater shadow conjuration.
(Replaces Master of the Veil)

As an addition there is this:

Wondrous Item
Fake Mustache
Slot: Face
Cost: 50000gil

Description: Only useful to a Pictomancer of advanced skill. This modifies their 'Art Imitates Life' and 'Life Imitates Art' abilities to instead operate similar to the Blue Mage 'Invoke' power. Whenever the Pictomancer uses Art Imitates Life on a target they instead use the 'Invoke' power causing their target to use a random Spell, Spell-like, Supernatural or Extraordinary ability at a target within range of that ability that the Pictomancer selects.
When a Pictomancer achieves ability to use Life Imitates Art the save DC for this ability increases by 2.

Ugh... I kept using Artist and Painter interchangeably... It should ALL be Painter. Sorry.

*edit* I tried to update everything with the Pictomancer title instead of Mystical Artist/Painter. If you see MP typed somewhere and it doesn't make sense I might have missed it. Sorry Sad
