Archer
#1
I'm looking over the archer in the hopes of making an archetype. However, looking over it, I think the class should naturally have the option of specializing in crossbows, rather than making an archetype.

Aim: I like the idea of this ability, but lowering initiative and only allowing one attack seem are very hefty penalties. Maybe make it a move action that affects the next attack you make, so that it will work with Vital Strike?
Aim seems like the crossbow specialist ability, as well. Having it be selectable against another ability focused on making lots of attacks instead of one big one would give the player more options.

Speaking of options, is there any reason why Archery Style doesn't allow a choice of feats? The ranger combat style's include a crossbow style as well.

Beyond that, I'd just like for the archer abilities to work with Crossbows as well as bows. What do you think?

Sounds agreeable to me. The only reason Aim is like it is, is because I wanted to emulate the Aim ability from FFT Archer.

Ok, I'll consider alternate abilities then, as well as how to word aim.

One thing I should note, I was assuming that Aim was supposed to be a major ability. Did you just include it as a side option?

My suggestion for the aim ability is change "Starting at 1st level, as a standard action, the archer can..." to "Starting at 1st level, as part of an attack action action, the archer can..." minimal change and allows it to work with the vital strike and any other feat that requires an attack action (allowing greater use at later levels). In addition add a sentence denoting that the aim action does not change your initiative on subsequent rounds (unlike delayed/readied actions which change your initiative count).
