I may be misremembering this but I thought that Gunblades didn't shoot in the game

The Final Fantasy VIII gunblades do not actually fire projectiles, but later versions in other games, like in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy XIII, have gunblades that work as both a gun and a blade, although they seem to be more of a guns with blades on them, rather than swords with firing mechanisms.
