Favorite character in FFd20? - Gizmo - 08-22-2014
I enjoy browsing the forums on my breaks at work. And I wanted to bring up a topic of discussion to really keep me interested.
The topic is: what is your favorite character you have either created, or encountered, in FFd20. Also a story of what happened or why they are your favorite would be lovely as well.
Sadly I have only played a short one shot of FFd20, so I have yet to encounter much.
I look forward to the responses.

Pretty much the same response in the other thread. Kefka, in my old game, was the antagonist for the PCs. Messing with their heads, trying to foil them at every turn. The PCs learn to hate him with a passion.

Bryndis- a Red Mage kind of heart but weak of body, a devout follower of all aeons to the point of laying her life on the line to save the world from the evil Kefka. Course, her most recent iteration was one who lost all of her friends and then was thrown through time and space to another world that could still be saved... but that's just flavor.
She was built as the epitome of Red Mages, to the point where I even made an archetype to further that which I got to play for all of 2 sessions before the game was cancelled :/ I wanna play more Generalist!

Eman-Ritan: Tarutaru Blue Mage specializing in monster spells. He was rather neutral when it came to planning, but he let his opinions known when deemed necessary. Nothing was closer to him but his dearest friends and family, especially the latter. He roamed the world with a group of his close friends, learning about all sorts of monsters and writing it in a book. (part of the kefka campaign Viladin is talking about)
he was heavily spellcaster based, and had one of the highest ACs and HP as well. Mostly a buffer in the group.

I at first played a black mage scholar type character with a tabby cat named Tomcat for a familiar. He was also a lawyer and a complete patriot. He got indoctrinated (basically) by an ancient black orb and brought it to the capital against the party's wishes in hopes of gaining permission to study it, research it, and eventually weaponize it for the good of the kingdom. The orb blew up and turned the capital into a nightmare realm and summoned an ancient demigod who fought the party and then teleported away to bide time to regain her strength. The party (in game) wasn't too thrilled.
Same campaign down the road I played a moogle fighter, the fourth prince of Old Roa, who posed as a mercenary to join the party and subtly steer them on the path to gain the weapons and magic scrolls needed to defeat the ancient demon. My party had a bunch of idiots and decided they wanted to be sky pirates even though destruction loomed on the horizon, and I could watch the GM slowly losing enjoyment of the game as the party gave up on this story he'd crafted.
