Nanaki (Red XIII's Species) - voltex - 05-24-2014 Red is one of my favorite Final Fantasy Charaters. Decide to write up his race.....it would be fun to play or seen played. Nanaki Species of sentient feline mammals in Final Fantasy VII that reside on the Planet. The species is known to be very long-lived, with lifespans that last hundreds of years. They seem to be highly similar to real-world wolves, though they share some characteristics of lions. They have bright red-orange fur (in most cases though in FF7 Cobalt XIV and Indigo XV were planed but never made noting possible other colors), and on the end of the their tails is a burning flame, though the significance of this is never explained. Though they are equally as intelligent as humans, with the ability to speak with perfect grammar, there is no evidence of the species creating a civilization, except for possibly Cosmo Canyon. The flame of Cosmo Canyon, said to burn eternal to protect it, may also be connected to their flaming tail. Nanaki Racial Traits Ability Score Racial Traits: Nanaki are wise and agile, but often lack social skils. They gain +2 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom, –2 Charisma. Type:Nanaki are Magical Beast Size: Nanaki are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size. BaseSpeed: Nanaki have a base speed of 40 feet. Languages: Nanaki begin play speaking Common and Nanaki. Offense Racial Traits: Natural Weapons: Nanaki lacke the ability to carry weapons but make up for it buying using their own natural weapons to their advantage. Bite 1d8+Str (Plus Grab) 2x Claws 1d4+STR (Plus Trip) Special Attacks: pounce, rake (2 claws +7, 1d4+5) Defense Racial Traits Agile Dodge: Nanaki are extremly agile and fast in this they gain a +2 Dodge bonus to AC. Movement Racial Trait: Quadruped: Nanaki possess four legs , granting them a +4 racial bonus to CMD against trip attempts and a +10 foot bonus to their base speed. Special Qualities: Low-Light Vision: Nanaki have eyes that are so sensitive to light that they can see twice as far as normal in dim light. Scent:This extraordinary ability lets a Nanaki detect approaching enemies, sniff out hidden foes, and track by sense of smell. Torch-light: Nanaki tails glow with a flame matching the color of their fur this allows for the illiumination of a torch in the dark.
