Varg Exemplar: Sharp Fangs
#1
This is one of the options for the Varg Exemplar racial feat:

Sharp Fangs (Ex): If you do not have the bone-crushing jaws racial feat, you gain the bone-crushing jaws racial feat. If you have or when you gain the bone-crushing jaws racial feat, your bite damage increases to 1d8.

From my understanding, the first part states that you receive the Bone-Crushing Jaws feat, effectively upgrading your Bite attack to 1d6, if you do not already have the Bone-Crushing Jaws feat. But the second part is rather confusing: because you gain the Bone-Crushing Jaws feat through this feat, does this automatically roll over the damage to 1d8?

No. The increase to 1d8 is only if you've already gotten Bone-Crushing Jaws before taking the Varg Exemplar feat, and is not affected by the Sharp Fangs ability when that specific ability grants you the Bone-Crushing Jaws feat.
