Hardedge sword
#1
Sword, Hardedge
Exotic, Two-Handed
Price 600 gil
Dmg (S) 1d8
Dmg (M) 2d6
Crit 18-20/x2
Range -
Weight 14 lbs.
Type Slashing

Designed as an alternative to the monstrously oversized buster sword, the hardedge has a square-ended, paddle-like shape with a somewhat longer handle than its larger cousin. Its single-edged blade is still quite capable of tearing enemies limb from limb, but has a certain balance to its design that lets the velocity of the blade do all of the work for the wielder, allowing them to strike with more control and precision. The hardedge is still quite heavy, however, and requires a Strength score of 13 to wield a size-appropriate sword.

One can use the Weapon Finesse feat to apply their Dexterity modifier instead of their Strength modifier to attack rolls with a hardedge sized for them, even though it is not a light weapon.

So, thoughts on this? Would you allow it in your games?
